Gone are the days of the "general practice" attorney--the jack-of-all-trades who could handle all aspects of a client's personal and business legal matters. Because of the complex nature of our legal system and the laws with which we deal, Favaro, Buzek, & Gorman, Ltd. concentrates its practice in three substantive areas: employment, business, and a limited variety of personal services. In all areas, the Firm seeks to find the most cost-effective solution and, when appropriate, works with its clients in conflict prevention as part of their comprehensive strategy.

Employment

The Firm represents individuals and businesses in a myriad of employment-related areas. From issues relating to sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, and discrimination to employment contracts, restrictive covenant issues, and policy manual development and auditing, the Firm is able to counsel clients on and, if necessary, litigate these and other workplace issues. Attorneys from the firm are noted lecturers, authors, and educators in the field of employment law. The Firm's attorneys have practiced in state and federal courts in Illinois and Colorado, including the Illinois Appellate Court, 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, Colorado Appellate Court, and 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Business

Taking the time to learn and thoroughly understand the goals and needs of the business client results in successful planning and solutions. From start-up advice for a new venture to counseling the business client in growth and dissolution issues, the Firm strives to provide superior advice that exceeds client goals. While prevention is a key element to any successful business strategy, scenarios often develop that lead to the courtroom. The Firm's experience in complex commercial litigation provides the business client with the representation needed for success whether in court or through a negotiated settlement.

Personal Services

Realizing the importance of such individual legal services as estate planning, probate, real estate, consumer issues, and personal litigation, the Firm delivers the same commitment and dedication to these matters as it does to its largest corporate client or the most complex matter. Although only a small segment of the Firm's practice, the Firm approaches these individual client services with the same goal in mind--to provide quality, affordable legal service.

Communication

From the first phone call to the conclusion of services, the Firm is committed to keeping clients fully informed regarding the status of their matter. To this end, the Firm: 1) has developed a strict policy of returning phone calls promptly; 2) provides clients with copies of all correspondence and documents; and 3) furnishes clients with status reports describing all noteworthy activity. The Firm understands the importance of each client's legal matter and, by keeping lines of communication open, strives to make the attorney/client relationship a positive one.

Fees

While often viewed as an "uncomfortable" topic, the Firm believes in engaging in an open, candid discussion of fees from the start. Billing arrangements can consist of hourly rate billing, fixed fee, contingent fee, or a blend of hourly and contingent fees. The Firm makes every attempt at being flexible in order to ensure that the client's needs can be met within budget. A major factor driving the Firm's affordable fee policy is the assumption of prompt payment.
