Max Barack has been an associate at Favaro & Gorman, Ltd. since January 2017. Mr. Barack received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law in May 2013, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and made the Chicago-Kent Dean’s Honor List in Fall 2010, Spring 2012, Fall 2012, and Spring 2013 semesters. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Barack speaks Spanish and represents primarily Spanish-speaking plaintiffs in a variety of employment-related cases. Mr. Barack works on a variety of types of plaintiff-side employment law cases, including wage theft and sexual and racial harassment and discrimination. Mr. Barack also has experience in several areas of law, including representing criminal defendants and victims of sexual abuse.
Mr. Barack has performed extensive research on the rights of public employees. He has given presentations on the difficulties and best practices for handling social media and other forms of electronic discovery in litigation. Max Barack is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, where he is a columnist for the @theBar Blog.
He is also a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) Illinois Chapter, the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s Employment Law Committee, and the Illinois State Bar Association. He has volunteered for First Defense Legal Aid. While in law school, he volunteered for Illinois Legal Aid Online.
